SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE FACING PERSECUTION, FLIGHT, AND HARDSHIP
Just Human supports people affected by war, violence, political or personal persecution, exploitation, structural causes of forced migration, or economic hardship. Support can be provided at all stages of persecution or displacement: in one’s home country, during flight, or in the place of refuge. The goal is to help enable a life of safety and self-determination.
A key focus of our work is supporting women and girls as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, and intersex people whose human rights are violated. To ensure that people can live in safety, we also work to eliminate the root causes of forced migration. We advocate against arms trafficking and climate change and for the establishment and strengthening of democratic structures and public institutions.
We dream of building or acquiring a Peace House — a suitable building or group of buildings. In the Peace House, we aim to create space for training and qualification, education, and collaborative work toward the goals of just human. It will be a safe place for learning, research, counseling, exchange, and encounter. At the same time, the Peace House will offer an environment for rest and empowerment.
