EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO A LIFE FREE FROM VIOLENCE AND PERSECUTION.
EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO FOOD, HOUSING, EDUCATION, WORK, LEGAL PROTECTION, AND HEALTH CARE.
EVERY PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO LOVE AND TO NURTURE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.
To make these rights a reality, Just Human supports people around the world who are affected by war, violence, political or personal persecution, exploitation, structural causes of displacement, or economic hardship. Support is possible at all stages of persecution or flight—at home, during flight, or at the place of refuge. It is intended to help enable a life of safety and self-determination.
A focus of our work is supporting women and girls as well as lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender, transsexual, and intersex people whose human rights are violated.
To ensure people can live in safety, we are also committed to eliminating the root causes of displacement.
We advocate against arms trading and climate change, and for the establishment and strengthening of democratic structures and administrations.
Our Dream: The House of Peace
We dream of building a House of Peace or acquiring a suitable house or set of buildings. In the House of Peace, we want to create spaces for training and qualification, education, and collaborative work toward the goals of Just Human.
The House of Peace will be a safe place where learning, research, counseling, exchange, and encounter can take place. At the same time, it will offer room to breathe and regain strength.
People are born into a country by chance. The differing consequences this has for individuals—wealth and poverty, democracy and dictatorship—we perceive as just as arbitrary as the borders and barriers erected between countries and cultures.
